We’re not your typical travel agent, in fact, we’re more like your travel partner. Someone who’s on the end of the phone, ready to be a sounding board, or to put things right when something doesn't quite go to plan.
Based in Hamilton but working with clients all over New Zealand and beyond, Travel Collective was started by Richard Brewer.
Richard’s parents owned a travel agency when he was growing up, which meant Richard travelled the world for several months of the year as a child. He experienced the cultures of other countries and the wonderful connections people have while travelling. He was destined for a career in travel and has been doing it ever since he can remember.





Travel has changed dramatically in recent years, and so have travellers’ expectations. People want personalised service, easy communication, and flexibility.
Whether it’s a quick text, a late-night question, or accessing their itinerary through an app, modern travellers expect their agent to be part of the journey with them — not someone they visit between 9 and 5. This shift has strengthened the way we work with clients and has been a key part of our ongoing success.
What stays with us long after a trip is booked are the stories. Hearing how a journey has created lifelong memories, strengthened relationships, or opened a child’s eyes to the world is incredibly rewarding. Knowing that travel has genuinely enriched someone’s life is the part of the job we value the most.

Working together should never feel transactional — it should feel like a partnership built on trust, care, and genuine connection. Many of our client relationships continue well beyond a single trip. We’ve attended weddings, overseen honeymoons, helped family members while loved ones were overseas, and stayed closely involved to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Sometimes creating that sense of care means going the extra mile — literally. Whether it’s arranging something special for a honeymoon or securing the right room while clients are already on the ground, we’re committed to making sure every detail feels considered.
